Barcaldine Castle

Barcaldine Castle, known as the ‘Black Castle’, offers a memorable place to stay near Oban, c. 1.5 miles from the village of Benderloch, just off the A828 Oban to Fort William road. Dating back to the early 1600s, with views across Loch Creran and the beautiful mountains of Glencoe, guests enjoy Visit Scotland 4-Star rated guest rooms and excellent hospitality at this stunning bed and breakfast.

There are 6 bedrooms, each one individually-presented with elegant furnishings and hosting uninterrupted views across the intoxicating surrounding landscapes. All provide modern en suite facilities, bathrobes, slippers, luxurious toiletries, free Wifi access and a well-stocked hospitality tray. The Aird’s Room can be arranged with a king bed or 2 singles, whereas Argyll, Barcaldine and Caithness Rooms are all doubles. Lochnell and Breadalbane Rooms have a beautifully-carved 4-poster bed.

After a wonderful night’s sleep, a Scottish breakfast is served in the panelled dining room in the morning and will definitely set you up for the day ahead!
