The Lion Hotel

The Lion Hotel is an 18th century village pub with bed and breakfast rooms, overlooking the river in the peaceful village of Llanbister, near Llandrindod Wells. A family-owned establishment, easily located off the A483 for visitors, owners Ray and Janet and the staff team offer a warm welcome. There is free car parking and the hotel is a member of Britstops, so motorhomes / campervans can safely park free-of-charge for one night.

All 4 guest rooms have their own style and are named after people from Radnorshire’s history. There are 3 en suite rooms, Elystan Glodrydd is a double room with room for an extra bed for accompanying children; Dordu can be arranged as a twin or king room and Maelienydd is a small double. Ithon is a king size room with a private bathroom. All have Sky TV, a hairdryer, Wifi, toiletries and a beverage tray. A full Welsh breakfast is included.

The restaurant, open Wednesday and Friday nights, serves pub classics from sausage and chips to curry and lasagne, also with vegetarian and gluten-free options. Children’s meals are also available. We source as many seasonal local Welsh ingredients as possible, including produce from The Lion Hotel’s own garden, together with eggs from our own hens. Menus are available to view on our website.
