The Running Horses

The Running Horses is a country inn dating back to the 16th century, in the village of Mickleham, one-and-a-half miles from Box Hill. Surrounded by the Surrey Hills and 2 miles from Dorking, we welcome a range of travellers to our guest accommodation, including holidaymakers, walkers and visitors to Epsom Downs Racecourse.

All guest bedrooms are decorated in their own individual style, featuring comfy king size or twin beds, en suite facilities, spa toiletries, a television, free Wifi and a hospitality tray. Extra beds or cots can be provided. Dogs are allowed in some rooms with prior agreement and the staff ensure water bowls and treats are available.

A complimentary breakfast is included and food is served throughout the day in the rustic dining room with its oak-cladded booths. The bar also offers a friendly place to relax with a drink, including craft ales, with a large open fireplace and beautiful outside terrace area. The Derby Room can be hired for private dining or gatherings.
