Balbeg Country Holidays offer 5 self-catering holiday homes in the grounds of a 300-acre country estate with views across the Water of Girvan valley, on the edge of Galloway Forest Park near the small village of Straiton. All of the properties have central heating, a modern kitchen and bathroom, wood burning stove and a garden. There is ample on-site parking and dogs are welcome by arrangement.

Rabbie Burns is a spacious timber-built home for 16 guests featuring 7 bedrooms; Balcraig House occupies the south wing of the main country mansion and sleeps 10 guests in 3 bedrooms; Balcraig Cottage is a 4-bedroomed property for 8 guests. Doonans Cottage is a modern-build catering for 6 to 8 guests featuring 3 bedrooms and Foxglove is the smallest cottage, sleeping 4 in 2 bedrooms.

There is an on-site playpark with swings, castle with a slide and roundabout for children, plus an adventure playground with climbing frames, swings, rope bridges and a football field with goal posts. Guests can walk around the nature pond, watching out for a variety of wildlife. The estate’s woodland trails are suitable for all ages and abilities and are an ideal way to explore the area.
