Idyllic Suffolk would like to present a selection of superb self-catering holiday cottages nestled in and around the scenic countryside of Dedham Vale and the Stour Valley. A family-owned business based in Higham, near Colchester, our 17 properties are furnished to a high standard and provide a wonderful rural holiday retreat.

All have been lovingly converted from traditional cottages, to provide a host of modern comforts whilst retaining their original charm, including some with thatched roofs. There are cosy cottages for 2 guests, up to the elegant Boxted Hall surrounded by its own moat for up to 26 people; as well as more secluded properties to those in quaint Suffolk villages. Dedham Vale and the Stour Valley are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). This charismatic and quintessentially English countryside landscape inspired British artist John Constable for many of his paintings and is today known as ‘Constable Country’. There are no shortage of things to do, from hiring a boat along the river, walking the Stour Valley Path, to relaxing and enjoying the food and drink at wonderful local restaurants and pubs.
