The Ship Inn

Dating from 1592, The Ship Inn is located in the heart of historic Rye in East Sussex. A former smuggler’s warehouse associated with the storage of contraband, it is now a welcoming inn with guest accommodation, featuring original wooden beams, shutters, panelled walls, wooden floors and open fires. Families with children and dogs are welcome.

Bedrooms are decorated in a contemporary style and feature en suite facilities, Sky TV, a coffee machine and refreshments. There are cosy doubles, spacious deluxe doubles and the Hush Heath Suite with its king size bed and sofa bed, ideal for families. A delicious full English or continental breakfast is included to ensure a good start to the day.

The bar provides a wide choice of drinks including English wine sourced from the Balfour Hush Heath Estate from just across the border in Kent. Homecooked food is served throughout the day, including fresh fish and a range of English classics, which can be enjoyed inside or out in the garden in fine weather.
