Gilcar Farm Holiday Cottages are 4 self-catering holiday homes situated on a family-owned working farm in the village of Emley, near Huddersfield. Each one sensitively converted from former farm buildings, they provide luxurious accommodation in a scenic rural setting, yet are conveniently only 3 miles from the M1.
The Blacksmiths Shop and Six Mistle sleep 7 and 8 guests and have both been adapted to provide improved accessibility for wheelchair users and guests with disabilities. They offer ground floor facilities, level access from the parking area and wet rooms. In addition, The Barn can accommodate 8 and The Swallows up to 4 guests.
The cottages retain original features including beautiful exposed wooden beams, inglenook fireplaces and vaulted ceilings. All have Wifi access, a kitchen, bathroom and outside dining area. There is ample off-road car parking. The Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Bretton Lakes, Cannon Hall Farm and Kirklees Light Railway are all close by, providing interesting days out. The area is also popular for its abundance of outdoors pursuits.
