Station House is the former railway station in the south Herefordshire village of Pontrilas, now offering self-catering accommodation. Popular with train enthusiasts, with original GWR buildings still in place and the opportunity to spot trains en route to Wales or the north-west, there are also many walks and outdoors activities available in the area. Hereford and Abergavenny are 12 miles away for days out.
Sleeping 5, families and pets are welcome. There is a spacious lounge with comfortable seating, a TV, dining table and doors leading onto the fenced former platform with a picnic table for outside dining or trainspotting. There is also a well-equipped kitchen. The bedrooms comprise a double and triple room, each with their own wash basin, and there is a bathroom and separate WC.
Out the front of Station House, there is a shared garden area and off-road car parking. The village has a post office and café, with regular local bus services available to Hereford city centre and Abergavenny. The Black Mountains / Brecon Beacons National Park and Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are a short drive away for outdoors enthusiasts.
