Strete Barton House

Offering superb AA-accredited 5-Star Gold Award accommodation, Strete Barton House is nestled in a perfect spot in the village of Strete, near the town of Dartmouth in Devon. This is a 16th century manor house within large grounds offering spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and sea. On arrival our guests are offered home-made cake with tea or coffee served in the drawing room, or on the terrace in our garden overlooking the sea.

There are 5 delectable bedrooms at Strete Barton, as well as a cottage attached to the side of the house with a private entrance. Kings View and Mewstone are super kingsize, Nuns Retreat is kingsize, Bay View is kingsize with a private bathroom and Monks View can be king-size or twin. Bedrooms have a TV/DVD, free Wifi, alarm clock, iPod dock, well-stocked hospitality tray, mineral water and complimentary toiletries as well as high quality linen. Fresh flowers and magazines are provided to add that extra special touch. We are the very proud recipients of an AA Breakfast award, which has an emphasis on freshly-prepared food using local Devon produce.

Strete is located near Slapton and Blackpool Sands beaches and is fabulous place to stay to explore the area of South Hams. It is situated on the South-West Coastal Footpath and only about 15 minutes drive from Dartmouth with its array of shops, cafes, tearooms, pubs and restaurants. Dartmouth Castle, Britannia Royal Naval College and the Dartmouth Steam Railway are popular, but there are a wide range of activities and attractions in the area.
