For a memorable place to stay in the North York Moors, St Aidan’s is a Grade II listed church situated in the hamlet of Charlton near Helmsley. Sensitively converted into a beautiful self-catering holiday home for 2 or 4 guests, this holiday property offers excellent facilities whilst retaining many original features including stained-glass windows, wooden pews and stone font.
The sitting room has a wood burning stove and digital TV. The bedroom is separated from the main living area by the original screen and has a king size bed which can also be arranged as a twin. There is also a snug area overlooking the garden with a double sofa bed, which can be used as an additional bedroom. The kitchen / diner is fully-equipped, including a washing machine and dining table. There is also a bathroom and separate wet room. Wifi is available. Outside, there is a lawned garden and on-street parking at the front.
Helmsley is a pretty market town in the North York Moors National Park with an ancient square, castle ruins, meandering beck and stone cottages. The friendly town has an abundance of local shops, delis, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs all surrounded by spectacular countryside. Market day is Friday. National walking trails, and plenty of charming day walks, are right on the doorstep.
