Nithbank Country Estate

Nithbank Country Estate offers luxurious bed and breakfast accommodation along the banks of the River Nith, in Thornhill, a village between Dumfries and Sanquhar. An 18th century former Chamberlain’s residence, the house offers Visit Scotland 5-Star Gold Award rated guest rooms, with Taste Our Best awarded food, and a Gold Award for Green Tourism.

Guests can stay in the Chamberlain’s Quarters or the Morton Suite; both with elegant furnishings and views over the valley and grounds. The rooms are equipped with a super king bed, seating area and en suite with a freestanding bath, walk-in shower and organic toiletries. Both also have a coffee pod machine and a selection of teas provided.

Fresh scones are served on arrival and a delicious home cooked full Scottish breakfast is provided in the drawing room in the morning. Preserves are made on the estate from home grown fruit and the granola and scones are also all homemade. Guests are welcome to explore the grounds. Flowers and champagne can be arranged for special occasions.
