Little Solway

Welcome to Little Solway, an attractive semi-detached stone holiday cottage for 2 people overlooking the Solway Firth and Cumbrian hills, in the village of Mainsriddle, about 8 miles from Dalbeattie. This cottage is perfect for those wishing to experience golf, fishing, walking, tennis, mountain biking, bird watching, rock climbing and more.

The cottage has a sitting room with a cosy log burning stove, sofa bed, high backed chairs and TV. The kitchen includes a gas hob, utensils, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a twin bedroom and a bathroom. Outside is an enclosed garden with patio furniture and a secure shed for the storage of equipment. Off-road parking is available at the front of the house and there are regular local buses to Dalbeattie and Dumfries.

Play a round at Southerness and Colvend Golf Clubs or go birdwatching at Mersehead RSPB Nature Reserve Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Reserve at Caerlaverock. Nearby, Mabie Forest offers walking and cycling routes. The area is also rich in history and nearby you can visit the ruins of the 13th century Sweetheart Abbey, while just a short drive away you will find Threave Castle, Drumlanrig Castle and Caerlaverock Castle.
