Tales from the Bay

Tales from the Bay are 3 self-catering cottages, each with stunning sea views along the coast in Dumfries and Galloway. There are 2 cottages overlooking Balcary Bay near Auchencairn and one in Southerness, looking across the Solway Firth. The properties have excellent facilities, car parking and dogs are welcome.

Balcary Mews Cottage is attached to the owners’ house, offering adults-only accommodation for 2 guests. The cottage has a lounge / diner, kitchen, double bedroom with a double and single bed, second double bedroom, shower room and landscaped gardens where guests can enjoy the panoramic views of the bay. The Nook at Balcary provides a bolthole for 2 people, with an open plan living area that opens out onto the patio, double bedroom and shower room. Guests can look across the water to Helston Island. Hawthorn Cottage is in Southerness, 50 metres from the beach. Sleeping 4, it has a lounge, kitchen / diner, conservatory, double en suite bedroom, another double room and bathroom. There is also a lawned garden.
