Ship Hotel

The Ship Hotel is a 17th century former coaching inn on the seafront in the village of Allonby near Workington. With uninterrupted views across the Solway coast and out to sea, the inn is also ideally located for visiting the Lake District. Guests can expect a warm welcome and excellent hospitality from owners Steve and Val.

Our guest rooms are comfortably furnished, with some offering en suite facilities or sea views. Dogs are allowed in all the rooms. Guests can relax in one of 2 bars with a wide range of drinks available including local ales. There are also large TV screens, a pool table and dart board with outside seating and children’s play area.

A hearty cooked breakfast is included in the room tariffs, with delicious home cooked bar meals available at lunchtime and in the evening too. Guests will find plenty of free on-site car parking and secure storage for bicycles. A function room is available at The Ship Inn for private parties or events.
