The Red Lion Inn

The Red Lion Inn is a 15th century coaching inn situated in the centre of Hawkshead near Ambleside, offering a welcoming place to stay for people exploring the southern Lake District; with great rooms, a friendly bar and home cooked food. There is private car parking and walkers and cyclists are welcome.

Rooms have been sensitively modernised to offer comfort in keeping with the character of the original architecture. We have 6 double bedrooms and 2 twin rooms. Hospitality trays feature a selection of Freetrade traditional and herbal teas, coffee and biscuits, with complimentary bottled mineral water in all rooms.
