Scafell Hotel

Scafell Hotel is an award winning 19th century country house situated in picturesque Borrowdale. Surrounded by the fells, at the base of Great Gable Mountain, it offers the perfect haven for walkers, climbers or people touring the Lakes. The hotel is proudly Visit England Gold awarded, with an AA 2-Rosette Awarded restaurant.

Each guest room has been decorated to a very high standard. All rooms are equipped with beautiful en suite bathrooms, luxury toiletries, LCD TV, telephone, hairdryer and well-equipped beverage tray with freshly filtered water from the fells. There are single, double, twin and family rooms with the Barnes Wallis Suite offering a romantic setting for 2 with king size bed, designer bathroom, lounge and breath-taking views to the fells.

Our award-winning breakfast is included in the room tariffs. Guests can choose from the continental buffet or have a freshly cooked full English breakfast or other options such as kippers. Sunday lunches and evening dinner are also available from a seasonal menu showcasing the finest Cumbrian fayre. Guests can relax in the lounge bar or enjoy a local ale, fine wine or bar food at the Riverside Bar.
