Black Swan Inn

A warm welcome awaits at The Black Swan Inn, a medieval pub offering guest accommodation in the heart of York. Built in 1417, the building has retained its characteristic features and is renowned for the several ghosts that still haunt its rooms! Ideally located within the city walls, it provides a comfortable place to stay for leisure or business guests, as well as ghost hunters.

There are 3 en suite guest bedrooms. Turpin and Stag can accommodate 2 or 3 guests in a 4-poster bed and a single bed plus en suite bathroom. Cottage can accommodate 4 with a 4-poster bed, 2 single beds and en suite shower room. Each room is equipped with TV, DVD player and refreshments. Breakfast and car parking are included in our room rates.

Guests can enjoy a drink or meal in the bar or out in the beer garden. All food is homemade and we can also arrange Ghost Suppers for groups of up to 15 people. There is regular live entertainment at The Black Swan and we can provide a venue for parties, special events or family occasions.
