La Rosa Hotel

La Rosa Hotel is a Victorian townhouse on the West Cliff of Whitby offering stunning views across the harbour. Once frequented by the poet and writer Lewis Carroll (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland), today, our guests can enjoy beautiful boutique-style guest rooms, have a relaxing cocktail in the library or a cup of tea in our on-site tea rooms. There is also a basement cafe for private events and parties.

All 9 guest rooms are uniquely decorated and contain a double bed, luxurious en suite facilities and have access to Wifi. Guests can choose to stay in the ‘Lewis’ room which has been styled to reflect the life of the man himself, with uninterrupted sea views and perfect for any budding writers! There is also ‘Stoker’ with gothic-style furnishings and views across to the abbey ruins. The Crow’s Nest on the top floor can accommodate 6 people in 3 double bedrooms.

After a soothing night’s sleep, our guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast hamper delivered to each room in the morning that includes fruit pastries, yoghurt, eggs and fruit. Just let reception know what time you'd like it delivered and we'll do the rest. You don't even need to get dressed!
