The Talbot

Welcome to The Talbot, a 17th century former coaching inn offering excellent guest rooms in the heart of the historic town of Malton. Located along the banks of the River Derwent, this pub offers a comfortable place to stay, local ales behind the bar and home cooked food; perfect for walkers, cyclists or travellers touring the area.

There are a variety of guest rooms depending on your tastes and requirements. All have their own en suite facilities. The 4-poster rooms are perfect for couples, with their beautiful marble bathrooms. There are also spacious rooms with seating and a desk; classic-style bedrooms full of character and family rooms with separate sitting rooms.

Terrific wholesome food is a major part of life at The Talbot. A delicious breakfast is served in the bar to ensure a good start to the day, with food available throughout the day for those seeking a quick lunch, afternoon tea or evening meal. There is the Feasting Room for weddings and special events, plus we also offer food tours and a cookery school.
