Walton-on-the-Naze is a small town in Essex on the North Sea coast. This is a seaside resort with sandy beaches, seafront gardens and quaint narrow streets. The pier is the second longest in England, offering fairground rides, ten pin bowling and sea angling. Walton's beach is a great family-friendly beach; the gently shelving sand provides safe bathing and there is a seasonal lifeguard service. You will find seaside amusements, beachside cafés as well as shops, good pubs and eateries in the town centre. Just to the north is The Naze, an unspoilt headland of fossil cliffs, heath, saltmarshes and sandy beaches. Wildlife flourishes on The Naze, which provides a sanctuary for migrating birds. Many rare species can be seen such as Marsh Harriers, Teal and Twite. It is also the site of the 86 foot Octagonal Naze Tower which is currently used as a gallery and museum with breath taking views of Essex and Suffolk from the open top roof viewing platform.
